Foxalo uses the open datasets and fonts below for the dictionary, the Grammar section and the Chinese character tools. Each entry says what we use it for, the licence it comes with and where you can check it yourself.

    Real frequency ranks for Chinese words (from film subtitles), used to order the dictionary and study suggestions.

    The vector strokes of each character drawn on every worksheet and every preview.

    The stroke data is extracted from Arphic Technology's AR PL UMing font. The original licence is kept verbatim at the link alongside.

    Foxalo takes the data from the public copy ivankra/hsk30 (released under an MIT label). The standard itself belongs to the Chinese Ministry of Education (版权所有：中华人民共和国教育部); we credit it and do not claim it as our own.
